Un día, el joven Jesús fue a una colina solitaria. Jesús estaba sentado meditando en Dios todo el tiempo. Después de un tiempo, él regresó. En su camino de regreso, en la costa del mar de Galilea, se encontró con un grupo de hombres preocupados. Cuando Jesús les preguntó, ellos le dijeron que eran pescadores y que no habían podido atrapar ningún pez en sus redes por bastante tiempo. Jesús dijo: “Síganme, ¿hay aguas que no tengan peces?” Los condujo hasta el medio del mar y les pidió que tiraran sus redes en un lugar determinado. Para su total asombro y gran alegría, los pescadores encontraron que sus redes estaban llenas de peces. Este evento generó una gran fe en las mentes de los pescadores. La fe es indispensable para la humanidad. Donde hay fe, hay amor. Donde hay amor, hay verdad. Donde hay verdad, hay paz. Donde hay

One day, young Jesus went to a lonely hilltop. Jesus was sitting and meditating on God all the while. After some time, he returned. As he was returning, he ran into a group of worried men on the coast of the sea of Galilee. When Jesus enquired, they said that they were fishermen and that for quite some time they were unable to catch any fish in their nets. Jesus said, “Follow me; are there any waters that do not have fish?” He took them to the middle of the sea and asked them to cast their nets at a particular spot. To their utter astonishment and great joy, the fishermen found that their nets were full with fish. This event created a lot of faith in the minds of the fishermen. Faith is indispensable for humanity. Where there is faith, there is love. Where there is love, there is truth; Where there is truth, there is peace; Where there is peace, there is bliss; Where there is bliss, there is God. (Divine Discourse, Dec 25, 2002)

Sat” es el Principio de Existencia, el “ES” que constituye la verdad básica del universo. Alinéense con la Verdad, el “Sat” en ustedes, la Realidad (Sathya) sobre la cual lo falso (Mitya) es impuesto por mentes que no ven la luz. Al morar en ese “Sat”, la llama es encendida, la luz aparece, la oscuridad huye y el Sol de la Realización (Jnana Bhaskara) se eleva. Cuando hay roca dura debajo, deben perforar más profundo para obtener el agua pura subterránea. Cuanto más blando sea el suelo subterráneo, más rápido será el éxito. Ablanden su corazón, entonces el éxito en el sadhana será rápido. Hablen suavemente, hablen dulcemente, hablen sólo de Dios: ése es el proceso para ablandar el subsuelo. Desarrollen compasión, solidaridad; comprométanse en el servicio, comprendan la
agonía de la pobreza, de la enfermedad, de la aflicción y de la desesperación; compartan tanto las lágrimas como las alegrías con los demás. ¡Ésa es la manera de ablandar el corazón y ayudar a que el sadhana tenga éxito! Bhagavan Sri Sathya Sai Baba. (Discurso Divino del 10 de mayo de 1969)

 

Sat is the Existence Principle, the ‘IS’ that is the basic truth of the Universe. Align with the Truth, the Sat in you, the Satya (Reality) on which the Mitya (false) is imposed by minds that do not see light. By dwelling in that Sat, the flame is lit, light dawns, darkness flees and the Jnana Bhaskara (Sun of Realisation) rises. When there is hard rock below, you have to bore deeper for tapping the underground pure water. Softer the subterranean soil, quicker the success. Make your heart soft; then success is quick in sadhana. Talk soft, talk sweet, talk only of God – that is the process of softening the subsoil. Develop compassion, sympathy; engage in service, understand the agony of poverty, disease, distress and despair; share both tears and cheers with others. That is the way to soften the heart and help sadhana to succeed! (Divine Discourse, May 10, 1969)

Fundamentalmente, ¿qué es el Sadhana? Es “upavasam” o “upasana”. “Upa” significa cerca, “Asana” significa sentarse y “Vasam” significa residir. Nos sentamos cerca de un ventilador para poder refrescarnos. Nos sentamos cerca de Dios para poder adquirir algunas cualidades Divinas y librarnos de las características malignas. Dios no es un artefacto o aparato externo como el ventilador. Él es el “Antaryamin”, el Director Interno, la Realidad Interna, la Base Invisible sobre la cual todo este mundo visible es construido. Él es como el principio del fuego latente en la madera, que puede manifestarse cuando un trozo se frota vigorosamente contra otro. ¡El calor que se produce consume la madera en el fuego! El Satsang (la compañía de los buenos y piadosos) los hace encontrarse con otros individuos de la misma naturaleza y crea el
contacto que hace que se manifieste el Fuego Interior. Sat-sang significa «encontrar el Sat», el “Sat” (Verdad) del cual se habla cuando se exalta a Dios como Sat-Chit-Ananda. Bhagavan Sri Sathya Sai Baba. (Discurso Divino del 10 de mayo de 1969)

 

What is Sadhana, fundamentally? It is upavasam, upasana. ‘Upa’ means near, ‘Asana’ means sitting, and ‘Vasam’ means residing. We sit near a cooler so that we may feel cool. We sit near God, so that we might derive some Godly qualities and get rid of ungodly characteristics. God is not an external contrivance or convenience like the air cooler. He is the Antaryamin, the Inner Director, the Inner Reality, the Unseen Basis on which all this seeable world is built. He is like the fire-principle that is latent in wood, which can be made manifest, when one piece is rubbed vigorously against another. The heat that is produced consumes the wood in fire! Satsang (Company of the good and the godly) makes you meet with other individuals of like nature, and creates the contact that manifests the Inner Fire. Sat-sang means meeting the Sat, the Sat (Truth) which is spoken of while extolling God as Sat-chit-ananda. (Divine

Realizar a Brahman a través de la continua meditación en Él, no es un camino agradable para todos. Por esta razón, los maestros espirituales como Ramanuja favorecieron la senda de la devoción. Ellos mismos experimentaron la bienaventuranza que fluye del amor a Dios y propagaron el principio del amor como el medio más fácil de experimentar lo Divino. Han habido maestros que enfatizaron la senda de la acción (Karma Marga), la senda del conocimiento (Jnana Marga), los diferentes tipos de yoga u otros medios para realizar lo Divino. Pero la corriente subyacente común que fluye a través de todos ellos, es la senda de Bhakti, la senda del Amor Divino. Esto es aceptado por todos ellos. El amor debe expandirse desde el individuo a todo el universo. El Amor es Dios. El universo está impregnado de Dios. El ver a Dios en todo, el amar a todo como una manifestación de Dios y
ofrecerle todo a Dios como una ofrenda de Amor, ¡este es el camino del Amor! Bhagavan Sri Sathya Sai Baba. (Discurso Divino del 19 de enero de 1986)

 

To realise the Brahman through continuous meditation on Brahman is not an enjoyable path for all to take. This was why spiritual teachers like Ramanuja favoured the path of devotion. They experienced themselves the bliss flowing from love of God and propagated the love-principle as the easiest means to experience the Divine. There have been teachers who have emphasised the Karma Marga (the path of Action), the Jnana Marga (the path of knowledge), the different types of yoga or other means to realise the Divine. But the common under-current that flows through all of them is the path of Bhakti – the path of Divine Love. This is accepted by all of them. Love must expand from the individual to the whole universe. Love is God. The universe is permeated by God. To see God in everything, to love everything as a manifestation of God and to offer everything to God as an offering of Love – this is the way of Love! (Divine Discourse, Jan 19, 1986)
