¡Encarnaciones del Amor! El sello distintivo del amor es el sacrificio desinteresado (thyaga). El amor no busca nada, de nadie. No abriga mala voluntad hacia nadie. Es completamente altruista y puro. Al no comprender la verdadera naturaleza del amor, la gente lo anhela, de diversas maneras. El amor debe ser atendido con sentimientos de benevolencia y sacrificio. En lo que el mundo considera amor, ya sea amor materno, amor fraterno, o amistad, hay un elemento de egoísmo. Sólo el amor de Dios está totalmente libre de toda mancha de egoísmo. El amor divino alcanza incluso al ser más remoto. Hace reunir a aquellos que están separados. Eleva al ser humano, de la animalidad a la divinidad. Transforma gradualmente a todas las formas de amor mundano, en amor divino. Incluso el sentimiento de hermandad universal, no es lo mismo que la experiencia de ekatvam (la unidad). Hasta en ese sentimiento fraternal, hay un
elemento de interés personal. También aquellos que realmente desean promover la hermandad universal, deben desarrollar la consciencia del Espíritu único, que reside en todos los seres. (Discurso Divino, 20 de junio de 1996)

 

Embodiments of Love! The hallmark of love is selfless sacrifice (thyaga). Love seeks nothing from anyone. It bears no ill-will towards anyone. It is utterly selfless and pure. Failing to understand the true nature of love, people yearn for it in various ways. Love must be cherished with feelings of selflessness and sacrifice. In what is deemed as love in the world – whether it be maternal love, brotherly love, or friendship – there is an element of selfishness. Only God’s love is totally free from the taint of selfishness. Divine love reaches out even to the remotest being. It brings together those who are separate. It raises man from animality to Divinity. It transforms gradually all forms of worldly love to Divine love. Even the feeling of universal brotherliness is not the same as the experience of ekatvam (oneness). Even in such a fraternal feeling, there is an element of self-interest. Those who really wish to promote universal brotherhood too
should develop the consciousness of the one Spirit dwelling in all beings. (Divine Discourse, 20 June 1996)

Aquellos que están agitados por dudas acerca de qué aceptar y qué rechazar; aquellos que están cegados por la ilusión, y aquellos que no pueden distinguir entre la oscuridad y la luz, o la muerte y la inmortalidad; todos ellos deben acercarse a los grandes personajes que pueden mostrar el camino, para comprender la verdad eterna, la base de toda la creación, que brilla con luz propia. Entonces, este mundo y los cielos se confundirán en la misma refulgencia. Con el fin de tomar consciencia de esto, ustedes deben tener un profundo anhelo, y una práctica rigurosa y disciplinada. Este nacimiento humano es consecuencia de incontables acciones buenas, y no debe ser desechado; la chance debe ser explotada a fondo. Como dice el Kenopanishad: «Esta preciosa vida actual no debe ser dejada de lado». Habiendo tantas posibilidades de salvarse, ¿no es una gran pérdida el
desperdiciarlas a todas? Para todos aquellos que son esclavos del orgullo y de los rasgos animales, es sumamente importante estar atentos al tiempo. La demora es infructuosa; es tan tonta como comenzar a cavar un pozo cuando se incendia la casa. (Prema Vahini, Capítulo 57)

 

Those who are agitated by doubts about what to accept and what to reject, those who are blinded by illusion, and those who cannot distinguish between darkness and light, death and immortality — all these should approach great people who can show the path to understand the eternal truth – the self-illumined basis of all creation. Then both this world and heaven will be merged in the same effulgence! For the sake of this realisation, one should have deep yearning and hard, disciplined practice. This human birth is the consequence of countless good deeds, and it should not be cast aside; the chance must be fully exploited. As the Kenopanishad says, “This present precious life should not be thrown away.” When there are so many chances of saving oneself, isn’t it a big loss to waste them all? For all those who are slaves of pride and animal traits, this awareness in time is most important. Delay is fruitless; it is as silly as starting to dig a well when
the house catches fire. (Prema Vahini, Ch 57)

Al hacer Kundalini Yoga, la gente practica el control de la respiración. En los ejercicios respiratorios, la inspiración es descripta como Purakam, la espiración como Rechakam, y el contener la respiración, como Kumbhhakam. Esto, por sí solo, no constituye el medio de lograr poderes yóguicos. Purakam es aspirar todo lo que es bueno. Rechakam es abandonar todo lo que es malo. Kumbhakam es retener en el corazón lo que es bueno. Cada ser humano debe practicar este tipo divino de yoga; de hecho, esta debe llegar a ser su meta principal. Puttaparthi es un pequeño caserío. ¿Cómo ha alcanzado esta aldea un estado tan eminente? Pueden hallar la respuesta por sí mismos. No fue simplemente un gran caso de buena fortuna, ni un accidente afortunado. Se debió al poder del pensamiento. Todo pensamiento sagrado tiene el poder de hallar cumplimiento. Por eso, las Escrituras
declararon: «Según como piensas, en eso te conviertes» (Yad bhavam tad bhavati). Cultiven buenos pensamientos, y naturalmente tendrán derecho a sus frutos. (Discurso Divino, 23 de noviembre de 1990)

 

While doing Kundalini Yoga, people practice breath control. In the breathing exercises, inhalation is described as Purakam, exhalation as Rechakam and holding the breath as Kumbhakam. These alone do not constitute the means to achieve yogic power. To breathe in all that is good is Purakam. To give up all that is bad is Rechakam. To retain in the heart what is good is Kumbhakam. Every human being must practice this divine type of yoga; in fact, this must become your primary goal. Puttaparthi is a small hamlet. How has this village attained this eminent state? You can find the answer for yourself. It was not merely a great piece of good fortune or a lucky accident. It is due to the power of thought. Every sacred thought has the power to find fulfilment. Hence, scriptures declared: “As you think, that you become (Yad bhavam tad bhavati)». Develop good thoughts and naturally you will be entitled to the right of its fruits. (Divine Discourse, 23 Nov

Desarrollen la cualidad del amor. Llenen completamente sus vidas con amor. Esta fue la plegaria que las gopikas dirigieron a Krishna. Una vida sin amor, es totalmente estéril. Ustedes son encarnaciones del amor. El amor tiene que ser dirigido hacia lo que es verdadero. Un amor así, debe ser su aliento vital. ¡Encarnaciones del Atma divina! Considerando al amor como la esencia de la Divinidad, deben embarcarse en el servicio amoroso a la sociedad. ¿Por qué se han reunido hoy aquí tantos cientos de miles de personas? Para esto, debe haber alguna razón convincente. Ustedes deben estar buscando algo que no han encontrado en su lugar natal. Aquí, hay Amor Divino. Lo que ha atraído a toda la gente aquí, es el poder del Amor Divino: ése es el vínculo que une a los corazones. En la raíz de todo esto, está la pureza. Donde hay pureza, allí crece el amor.
Cuando la pureza y el amor se juntan, hay Ananda (bienaventuranza). El trabajo que ustedes hagan, o cualquier sacrificio que lleven a cabo, no son de mucha utilidad, en ausencia de amor. (Discurso Divino, 23 de noviembre de 1990)

 

Develop the quality of love. Fill your entire life with love. This was the prayer which the gopikas addressed to Krishna. A life without love is utterly barren. You are the embodiment of love. Love has to be directed towards what is true. Such love must be your life-breath. Embodiments of the Divine Atma! Esteeming love as the essence of Divinity, you must engage yourselves in loving service to society. Why is it that so many lakhs of people have gathered here today? There must be some compelling reason for it. You must be seeking something which you have not found in your native place. Here there is Divine Love. What has drawn all people here is the power of Divine Love – that is the bond uniting hearts. At the root of all this is purity. Where there is purity, there love grows. When purity and love come together, there is Ananda (bliss). Whatever work we do, whatever sacrifices we perform, they are not of much use in the absence of love. (Divine
