¿Puede un foco de alta potencia parecerse al inigualable esplendor del Sol? ¿Puede un aparato de bombeo proveer tanta agua como la que obtenemos de una fuerte lluvia? ¿Puede un ventilador dar la frescura que otorga el Dios del Viento? Los dones de Dios son abundantes, generosos e incomparables. Pagamos por los diversos beneficios que disfrutamos, como la cuota del agua a la empresa proveedora, la de electricidad al departamento correspondiente, etc. Sin embargo, ¿qué pagamos al gran Señor que nos proporciona energía, luz y viento interminables? No demostramos gratitud alguna a Dios por habernos obsequiado los cinco elementos, que nunca se agotan. De hecho, nuestra principal obligación es expresar nuestro agradecimiento a Dios, que nos da en incesante abundancia.

Can any high-powered bulb equal the matchless brilliance of the Sun? Can any pump in the world supply as much water as we get from a heavy downpour? Can any fan in the world give as much coolness as given by the Wind-God? The gifts of God are abundant, bountiful and beyond compare. We pay tax for many facilities we enjoy, like water-tax to the corporation, tax to the electricity department for providing power, etc. But what taxes are we paying to the great Lord who provides us with endless power, light and wind? When we pay tax to the different departments for services provided, is it not our duty to pay the tax of gratitude to God? We do not show any gratitude to God who has gifted us the five elements, which never get depleted. Todos ustedes deben investigar con ahínco la presencia de la Divinidad en la vida humana. Tener consciencia de su deber es igual a tener consciencia de la Divinidad en la vida diaria. En el mundo moderno nadie tiene sentido de la gratitud. Algunos de ustedes ni siquiera tienen gratitud hacia los médicos que los curan cuando están enfermos. Ustedes argumentan que no es necesario agradecer al médico, porque es su deber curar al paciente que sufre. Pero recuerden que también ustedes tienen un deber, como pacientes. La violación flagrante del deber no les conduce a nada. Es su deber demostrar gratitud a la madre que los nutrió en la matriz y cuidó de su bienestar. Es extraño, pero muchos hasta cuestionan por qué deberían agradecer a la madre, que, en su opinión, está obligada por el deber a cuidar de los hijos. Por favor, tomen consciencia de que su principal deber

All of you should earnestly investigate the presence of Divinity in human life. Awareness of your duty is equal to the awareness of Divinity in daily living. In the modern world, nobody has a sense of gratitude. Some of you fail to show gratitude even to doctors who heal you when you were sick. You argue that you need not be grateful to the Doctor because it is their duty to cure a suffering patient. But remember, as a patient, you too have a duty. Flagrant violation of duty leads you nowhere. It is your duty to show gratitude to the mother who nourished you in the womb and fostered your wellbeing. Strange, but many even question why they should be grateful to the mother, who, in their opinion, is duty bound to take care of her children. Please internalise that it is your primary duty to take care of your mother who gave birth to you and raised you. (Divine Discourse, Summer Roses on Blue Mountains, 1996, Ch 1)

Cuando tomen conciencia de la luz, adquieran sabiduría y comprendan el significado de la existencia, pasarán de la angustia al éxtasis. Aquí la luz no quiere decir la luz del Sol, la Luna o la lámpara, sino la del corazón. La sabiduría no se refiere al conocimiento científico, sino a la iluminación generada por la trasformación del corazón. ¿Y la existencia? La percepción de su propia y auténtica realidad radica en comprender que no son su cuerpo, su mente o sus sentidos. La verdadera comprensión está en entender que su base es un principio trascendental que va más allá de los límites de la materia. Deben investigar con ahínco la presencia de la Divinidad en la vida humana. Tener consciencia de su propio deber es equivalente a tener conciencia de la presencia Divina en la vida humana. When you become conscious of the light, acquire wisdom and realise the meaning of existence, you will be transported from agony to ecstasy. Light here does not signify the light of the Sun, the Moon or the lamp, but that of the heart. Wisdom does not refer to scientific wisdom, but enlightenment brought about by the transformation of the heart. What about existence? Awareness of your own true reality is the proper meaning of existence. The awareness of your reality lies in the realisation that you are not the body, the mind or the senses. True realisation lies in understanding the fact that you are based on a transcendental principle that goes beyond the boundaries of matter. One should earnestly investigate the presence of Divinity in human life. Awareness of one’s own duty is tantamount to the awareness of Divinity in human life. (Summer Showers Ch1, May 20, 1996)

Las buenas compañías los pueden elevar al nivel de la Divinidad, mientras que las malas compañías pueden degradarlos al nivel de un animal. Deben hacer el esfuerzo de elevarse por encima del nivel humano. Para caer, no hace falta ningún esfuerzo. Volverse malo es muy fácil. Los jóvenes de hoy albergan malos pensamientos y sentimientos, y cometen malos actos, desperdiciando así su preciosa juventud. Lamentablemente, hoy la gente tiene malas juntas, por lo que sus buenos sentimientos y acciones se vuelven malos y al final hacen sus vidas muy desgraciadas. Aunque parecería muy difícil llegar a ese alto nivel, aún así deben esforzarse por alcanzarlo. Sus pensamientos son el origen de todo. Por lo tanto, deben tener solamente pensamientos nobles, sagrados, puros y llenos de significado. (Discurso Divino, 8 de julio de 1996)

 

Good company can elevate one to the level of Divinity, whereas bad company can degenerate one to the level of an animal. You should make efforts to rise above the human level. No effort is needed for your downward fall. To become bad is very easy. Young people today entertain bad thoughts and feelings, and perform bad actions, thereby wasting their precious young age. Unfortunately, people today associate with bad company, because of which their good feelings and actions are turned into bad feelings and actions — ultimately making their lives very miserable. Though it may appear to be very difficult to attain the higher level, you should still make efforts to reach higher levels. Your thoughts are the root cause of everything. Therefore, you should have only noble, sacred, pure, and meaningful thoughts. (Divine Discourse, 8 July 1996)
