Cierta vez cuando Duryodhana expresó que no tenía miedo de Dios ni del hombre, Krishna le dijo que era digno de lástima. El pasu (animal) teme; la mriga (bestia) aterroriza. El hombre no debe ser ninguno de los dos. No debe atemorizar ni ser amedrentado. No debe ser ni cobarde ni bravucón. Si es cobarde es un animal; si es abusivo es un danava, un ogro. Cada uno de ustedes es un templo, con el Señor instalado en su corazón, sean o no conscientes de ello. El Señor es descripto en el Purusha Sukta como con mil cabezas. Esto no significa que tiene mil cabezas literalmente. Significa que ahora, las miles de cabezas frente a Mí, tienen un solo corazón, que les da vida y energía a todos, y que ese corazón es el Señor. Nadie está separado de su vecino; todos están unidos por la única vida que fluye a través de los incontables cuerpos. Bhagavan Sri

Once when Duryodhana said that he was not afraid of God and man, Krishna told him that he was indeed, pitiable! The pasu (animal) fears; the mriga (beast) terrifies. Man should be neither. He should neither terrify nor get terrorised. He must be neither a coward nor a bully. If he is a coward he is an animal; if he is a bully he is a danava, an ogre. Every one of you is a temple, with the Lord installed in your heart, whether you are aware of it or not. The Lord is described in the Purusha Sukta as thousand headed; it does not mean that He has just thousand heads, no more, no less. It means that the thousands of heads before Me now have just one heart, which gives life and energy to all, and that heart is the Lord. El Señor ha dotado al hombre con el cuerpo y de tal modo, cada miembro y cada órgano de los sentidos se merece una atención reverente. Cada uno debe ser usado para Su Gloria. El oído debe regocijarse cuando se le da la oportunidad de escuchar las maravillosas historias de Dios. La lengua debe deleitarse cuando puede alabar a Dios. O de lo contrario, la lengua del hombre es tan inútil como la de las ranas que croan día y noche, sentadas la orilla del pantano. El cuerpo humano les ha sido dado para un gran propósito: alcanzar la consciencia de Dios en el interior. Si tienen un automóvil totalmente equipado y en condiciones de andar, ¿lo guardarían en el garaje? El automóvil es básicamente para ir de viaje; súbanse y vayan. Sólo así vale la pena poseerlo. También es así con respecto al cuerpo. Prosigan adelante hacia la meta. Aprendan a

The Lord has endowed man with the body and so, every limb and every sense organ is worthy of reverent attention. Each must be used for His Glory. The ear must exult when it gets a chance to hear the wonderful tales of God. The tongue must exult when it can praise Him. Or else, the tongue of man is ineffective as that of frogs which croak day and night, sitting on the marshy bank. The human body has been given to you for a grand purpose – realising the Lord within. If you have a fully equipped car in good running condition, would you keep it in the garage? The car is primarily for going on a journey; get into it and go. Then only is it worthwhile to own it. So too, with the body. Proceed, go forward to the goal. Learn how to use the faculties of the body, the senses, the intellect, and the mind for achieving the goal and march on. – Divine Discourse, Feb 18, 1966

Yo no pronuncio palabras sin sentido. No realizo acciones sin propósito. No planeo acciones sin sentido. Jamás me dedico a acciones que no sean sagradas. No necesito nada. Mi gozo consiste en satisfacer sus metas, y en hacer que logren alcanzarlas. Lo único que pido es un corazón lleno de amor. Crean y sosténganse fuertemente, sin enredarse en una red de explicaciones vacías y argumentos imaginarios; se es el modo de sacar provecho. No desarrollen apego a este cuerpo. El apego hacia cualquier cuerpo no es deseable. Esta mano les da cosas, pero es Mi mano la que crea todo esto. Mi camino es único, diferente a todo lo que conocen. Yo no me identifico con nada. El hielo es agua, el agua es hielo. La forma (saguna) es sin forma (nirguna), esta forma es sin forma. Soy incomprensible. La forma del Señor puede ser percibida solo por medio del ojo del amor (prema), el ojo de la sabiduría (jnana),

I utter no meaningless word. I do no purposeless deed. I plan no significance-less action. I never engage in unholy activities. I have nothing that I need. My joy consists in fulfilling your aims, and in making you reach the goal. The one thing that I ask for is a love-filled heart. Believe and hold fast, without entangling yourselves in a mesh of empty explanations and imaginary arguments — that is the way to profit. Do not develop attachment to this body. Why, attachment to any body is not desirable. This hand gives you things, but My hand is that which creates all this. My course is unique, different from all that you know. I do not identify Myself with anything. Ice is water, water is ice. The Form (saguna) is without form (nirguna), without form is this form. I am incomprehensible. The Lord’s Form can be perceived only by means of the eye of love (prema) or the eye of wisdom (jnana) or the eye of yoga, not the eye of sensual activity.

La ceremonia de graduación en los lugares de retiro marcaba el cierre de un dulce capitulo en la vida, en el que se implantaban los ideales a seguir en los años venideros. El consejo que les daban los gurúes durante dichas asambleas era: «Consideren a la madre como a Dios, traten a su padre como a Dios, consideren al maestro como a Dios, y traten al invitado como a Dios.» Sigan estas cuatro exhortaciones con total fe en su validez, obtengan bienaventuranza de allí e inspiren a los demás con su ejemplo, de modo que la patria pueda progresar y prosperar. Sus padres sacrifican su comodidad e incluso sus necesidades para asegurarles el progreso. Es su deber reverenciarlos y hacerlos felices. Primero, hagan brillar sus hogares complaciendo a sus padres. No sean arrogantes hacia ellos porque han estudiado unas pocas cosas. Comprométanse en actos que los demás respeten y no en acciones de las que se
avergüencen. No permitan que sus mentes se agiten con deseos sin límites. Amen a su tierra natal. ¡Cumplan este deseo Mío, con mis bendiciones! Bhagavan Sri Sathya Sai Baba. (Divino Discurso del 22 de noviembre de 1986).

 

The convocation in hermitages marked the close of a sweet chapter in life when ideals to be pursued in later years were implanted. The advice given by gurus during convocations was, «Consider mother as God, consider father as God, consider teacher as God, and consider the guest as God.» Follow this fourfold exhortation with full faith in its validity, derive bliss therefrom and inspire others by your example, so that the Motherland may progress and prosper. Your parents are sacrificing their comforts and even necessities in order to ensure your progress. It is your duty to revere them and make them happy. First, render your homes bright by pleasing your parents. Do not be arrogant towards your parents because you have studied a few things. Engage yourselves in acts that others will respect and not in acts of which you feel ashamed of. Do not allow your minds to get agitated with limitless desires. Love your native land. Fulfil this desire of mine,
