Toda actividad en el mundo está centrada hoy en el dinero. Si le solicitan a alguien que cante una canción, o haga algún trabajo para ustedes, comenzará inmediatamente a negociar el monto que deberán pagar por su servicio. Toda actividad se ha convertido hoy en negocio, a tal punto que los negocios también se han introducido en el campo de la espiritualidad. De hecho, ustedes mismos son Dios. Están dotados de inmenso poder divino. Sin embargo, deben mantener la mente estable; que no salte de un pensamiento a otro. Si escriben respuestas correctas en su hoja de examen, obtendrán buenas notas. Si tienen una mente buena, todo resultará bueno. En cambio, si en ustedes hay malos pensamientos, el resultado será también malo. Como primero y principal, comprendan la naturaleza de su mente. Podrán entender el secreto de la vida humana sólo cuando comprendan su propia
mente. Sean buenos, hagan lo bueno y vean lo bueno. Entonces, todo en su vida se volverá bueno. (Divino Discurso, 2 de mayo de 2006)

 

Every activity in the world today is centred around money. Request someone to sing a song or do some work for you, they will immediately start bargaining the amount you will pay for their services. Every activity has become a business today, so much so that business has entered the field of spirituality too. There is no necessity to purchase God with money which, of course, you cannot. In fact, you yourself are God. You are endowed with immense divine power. But you have to keep your mind steady. Let it not jump from one thought to another. If you write correct answers in your examination, you will get correct marks. If you have a good mind, everything will turn out to be good. But if there are bad thoughts in you, the result will also be bad. First and foremost, understand the nature of your mind. You can understand the secret of human life only when you understand your own mind. Be Good, Do Good, See Good. Then everything will become good in your

Cambien su ángulo de visión. Cuando practiquen ver el mundo desde el punto de vista de la omnipresencia de la Divinidad, serán transformados. Experimentarán el poder de la Divinidad en toda la creación. No pueden ocultar nada a Dios. Muchos imaginan que Swami no ve lo que están haciendo. No se dan cuenta de que Swami tiene una miríada de ojos; incluso los ojos de ustedes son divinos. Sin embargo, no son conscientes de su verdadera naturaleza. Cuando tengan fe en sí mismos, tendrán fe en Dios. Dénse cuenta de que nada supera el poder de Dios. Amen a Dios con esta suprema fe. Entonces serán atraídos hacia Dios. Hace falta pureza. Un imán no puede atraer un trozo de hierro cubierto de herrumbre. De la misma manera, Dios no atrae hacia Sí a una persona impura. En consecuencia, cambien sus sentimientos y sus pensamientos, desarrollando la convicción de

Change the angle of your vision. When you practise seeing the world from the point of view of the omnipresence of the Divine, you will get transformed. You will experience the power of the Divine in everything in creation. You cannot hide anything from God. Many imagine that Swami does not see what they are doing. They do not realise that Swami has a myriad eyes. Even your eyes are divine. But you are not aware of your true nature. When you have faith in yourself, you will have faith in God. Realise that there is nothing beyond the power of God. Love God with that supreme faith. Then you will be drawn towards God. It needs purity. A magnet cannot attract a piece of iron covered with rust. Similarly God will not draw to Himself an impure person. Hence, change your feelings and thoughts and develop the conviction that God is everything. (Divine Discourse, Feb 27, 1995)

Ustedes tienen que tener menos equipaje (deseos) en este largo viaje de la vida. Por eso se dice: «Menos equipaje, más comodidad y más placentero el viaje». Por eso, lo que hoy tienen que adoptar es un límite a los deseos. Día a día, deben ir reduciendo los deseos. Ustedes tienen un error de concepto: que la felicidad radica en la satisfacción de los deseos. Sin embargo, la felicidad comienza a despuntar cuando los deseos son totalmente erradicados. Cuando reducen sus deseos, avanzan hacia el estado de renunciación. Tienen muchos deseos; ¿qué obtienen de ellos? Cuando reclaman algo como suyo, están sujetos a enfrentar las consecuencias. Si reclaman una extensión de campo como propio, tendrán que recoger la cosecha. Este instinto de ego y apego los hará sufrir. Nunca olviden que se sentirán dichosos en el momento en que abandonen el ego y el apego.

You should have less luggage (desires) in this long journey of life. Therefore, it is said: ‘less luggage more comfort makes travel a pleasure.’ So, ceiling on desires is what you have to adopt today. You have to cut short your desires day by day. You are under the mistaken notion that happiness lies in the fulfilment of desires. But in fact, happiness begins to dawn when desires are totally eradicated. When you reduce your desires, you advance towards the state of renunciation. You have many desires. What do you get out of them? You are bound to face the consequences when you claim something as yours. When you claim a piece of land as yours, then you will have to reap the harvest. This instinct of ego and attachment will put you to suffering. Never ever forget that you will be blissful the moment you give up ego and attachment! (Divine Discourse, Mar 14, 1999)

Cuando su conciencia les dice que algo está mal, deben abstenerse de hacerlo. Traicionan su condición misma de humanos, si no actúan de acuerdo a los dictados de su conciencia. Cuando nuestras palabras están de acuerdo con nuestros pensamientos, éstos se convierten en Sathya (verdad). Cuando la palabra hablada se traduce en acción, se convierte en Dharma (acción correcta). La base, tanto de la verdad como de la acción correcta, es el Antaratma (la conciencia), el Espíritu Interior. Los pensamientos que emanan del Antaratma o la conciencia, deben hallar expresión en el habla. Si los sentimientos internos son diferentes a lo que se dice, ¿las palabras deben ser tratadas como verdad o como falsedad? Claramente, se trata de falsedad. Cuando nuestra acción no está de acuerdo con nuestras palabras, se trata de adharma (acción incorrecta). La verdad y la
acción correcta son expresión de incitaciones desde lo profundo de la propia conciencia. (Divino Discurso, 11 de marzo de 1994)

 

When your conscience tells you that something is wrong, you should refrain from doing it. You betray your true humanness when you fail to act up to the dictates of your conscience. When one’s words are in accord with one’s thoughts, they become Sathya (truth). When the spoken word is translated into action, it becomes Dharma (right action). The basis for both truth and right action is the Antaratma (conscience), the Indwelling Spirit. The thoughts that emanate from the Antaratma or conscience should find expression in speech. If the inner feelings are different from what is spoken, can the words be treated as truth or untruth? Clearly, it is untruth. When one’s action is not in accordance with his words, it is adharma (unrighteous action). Truth and right action are expressions of the promptings from the depths of one’s conscience.
