EL poder del Amor es infinito. Puede conquistar cualquier cosa. Una vez , mientras el Señor Buda estaba de travesía, fue enfrentado por una demonia que amenazaba con matarlo. Sonrientemente, Buda dijo: «Tú no eres un demonio; eres una deidad!. Te amo aunque te comportes como un demonio.» Al oír estas palabras amorosas, la demonia se convirtió en paloma y se marchó volando. El amor puede cambiar el corazón de un acérrimo enemigo. Es esta clase de Amor Universal que debe ser cultivado por todos. Hay gente que profesa diferentes fes en el mundo – Cristianos, Musulmanes, Hindúes, Zoroastrianos y demás. No debería haber diferencias o desconfianza entre las religiones, ya que todas ellas defienden la Verdad y la Rectitud (Dharma). Hoy el conflicto y la violencia atormentan el mundo. La Paz y la prosperidad pueden emerger solo cuando la gente se vuelca hacia la senda del amor y

The power of Love is infinite. It can conquer anything. Once while Lord Buddha was journeying, He was confronted by a demoness who threatened to kill Him. Smilingly, Buddha said: «You are not a demon; you are a deity! I love you even if you behave like a demon.» Hearing these loving words, the demoness turned into a dove and flew away. Love can change the heart of even an inveterate enemy. It is this kind of Universal love that should be cultivated by everyone. There are people professing different faiths in the world – Christians, Muslims, Hindus, Zorastrians and so on. There should be no difference or distrust amongst religions, for all of them uphold Truth and Righteousness (Dharma). Today, the world is bedeviled by conflict and violence. Peace and prosperity can emerge only when people turn to the path of love and morality, and lead purposeful lives. – Divine Discourse, Dec 25, 1986

El Gita no propone la inercia, indiferencia o la haraganería. Recomienda el Karma como una comunión divina (yoga), como una actividad en sintonía con la voluntad Divina, y dirigida al ascenso de la consumación espiritual de uno mismo. El Karma debe ser un acto de auto satisfacción , de adoración y de deber individual para con uno mismo y los otros. El Gita destaca los pasos hacia la consumación de esta meta. Acepta todas las actitudes como valiosas y sublima a cada uno en un esfuerzo espiritual (sadhana). Nadie puede hacer más de lo que puede. El cuerpo está dotado de todas sus excelencias y defectos inherentes, de modo que todo momento de la vida puede ser usado para propósitos que pueden santificar el tiempo a través del servicio, el sacrificio y el amor. Los actos mundanos (karma) se transforman entonces en Karma – yoga, karma ligado a ideales sin egoísmo.

The Gita does not encourage inertia, indifference or slothfulness. It recommends Karma as a divine communion (Yoga), as an activity in tune with the Divine Will, and directed to the promotion of one’s spiritual consummation. Karma must be an act of fulfilment, of adoration and of one’s duty to oneself and others. The Gita marks out the steps and the path towards the realisation of this goal. It accepts all attitudes as valuable and sublimates each one into a spiritual effort (sadhana). No one can do better than their best. The body is gifted with all its inherent excellences and defects so that every moment of life can be used for purposes that can sanctify time through service, sacrifice and love. Mundane action (Karma) then becomes Karma-yoga, karma yoked with unselfish ideals. – Divine Discourse Sep 10, 1984

Un trozo de mysorepack (un dulce Indio hecho con harina gram) tiene dulzura, peso y forma. Los tres no se pueden separar uno de otro. Cada pequeña parte del dulce tiene su dulzura, peso y forma. No encontramos forma en una parte, peso en otra y dulzura en la tercera. Y cuando se coloca en la lengua, se reconoce el sabor, el peso se reduce y la forma cambia, todo al mismo tiempo. Así también, el alma individual (jiva), el Atma y el Señor Supremo (Parameshwara) no están separados; son uno y el mismo. Similarmente cada acción individual, todas las acciones de la vida deben estar llenas del espíritu del servicio desinteresado (seva), amor divino (prema), y sabiduría espiritual (jnana. )Este es verdaderamente el yoga del Supremo (Purushothama- yoga). Debe ser practicado en acción, no ser expresado en palabras meramente. La disciplina espiritual debe ser realizada constantemente con un

A piece of mysorepak (an Indian sweet made of gram flour) has sweetness, weight, and shape; the three cannot be separated, one from the other. Each little part of the sweet has sweetness, weight, and shape. We don’t find shape in one part, weight in another and sweetness in a third. And when it is placed on the tongue, taste is recognised, weight is lessened, and shape is modified – all at the same time. So too, the individual soul (jiva), the Atma and the Supreme Lord (Parameshwara) are not separate; they are one and the same. Similarly every individual deed, all activities in life must be full of the spirit of selfless service (seva), divine love (prema), and spiritual wisdom (jnana). This is verily the yoga of the Supreme (Purushothama-yoga). It must be practiced in action, not merely spoken in words. Spiritual discipline must be constantly done with an ever expanding heart full of devotion and spiritual wisdom. – Prema Vahini, Ch 9

Deben estar felices de que el Señor haya instaurado nuevos y más modernos medios para servir y adorar a Dios por variados métodos y formas. Oren por tener nuevas oportunidades siempre y regocíjense por la oportunidad que reciben sus manos. Esta actitud da un gozo inconmensurable. Vivir una vida en este gozo es de hecho bienaventuranza. Lo que sea hecho desde el amanecer hasta el atardecer debe ser consagrado como si fuese el culto del Señor. Así como se toma cuidado al cortar solo las flores frescas y mantenerlas limpias y que no se marchiten, así también, debería hacerse un esfuerzo incesante para realizar acciones puras e inmaculadas. Si se mantiene esta visión ante el ojo de la mente todos los días, y se vive de acuerdo con ello, ahí se convierte en un servicio al Señor sin tacha. El sentimiento de «yo» y «tú» pronto desaparecerá, todas las
trazas del ego serán destruidas. La vida entonces se transmuta en una devoción verdadera para el Señor. Bhagavan Sri Sathya Sai Baba. Prema Vahini, Cap. 8.

 

You must be happy that the Lord has placed newer and newer materials to serve Him and worship Him in various means and forms. Pray for ever new opportunities and exult in the chance that your hands receive. This attitude gives immeasurable joy. To lead a life suffused with this joy is indeed bliss. Whatever is done from sunrise to sunset must be consecrated as if it is the worship of the Lord. Just as care is taken to pluck only fresh flowers and to keep them clean and unfaded, so too, ceaseless effort should be made to do deeds that are pure and unsullied. If this vision is kept before the mind’s eye everyday and life is lived accordingly, then it becomes one long unbroken service of the Lord. The feeling of ‘I’ and ‘You’ will soon disappear; all traces of self will be destroyed. Life then transmutes itself into a veritable devotion to the Lord. – Prema Vahini, Ch 8
