¡La vida no es un asunto sencillo! No se puede alcanzar la felicidad (sukham) a través de la comodidad (sukham). La alegría de la liberación sólo se puede ganar a través del trabajo duro y el sufrimiento. Es el dolor el que hace que la alegría valga la pena, ¡un bien precioso! A través del dolor, una mujer alcanza la alegría de la maternidad. A través del cansancio, el agricultor obtiene el codiciado grano del campo. A través de largos días y noches de estudio constante, un estudiante pasa el examen y obtiene un diploma. Es la completa oscuridad la que impulsa al buscador de la luz; es la muerte la que da sabor a la vida. Prívense del lujo y confort, despréndanse de lo que consideran querido y cercano por la pura ignorancia de su mente. Desvívanse, luchen, esfuércense sin cesar y luego se les bendecirá con la Bienaventuranza
inefable de la fusión de lo Individual con lo Universal; obtendrán el don de la Unión con lo Divino (Sakshathkara). (Discurso Divino, 16 de marzo de 1966)

 

Life is not a simple affair! You cannot attain happiness (sukham) through comfort (sukham). The joy of release can be won only through travail and trial. It is grief that makes joy worth its while, a precious possession! Through pain, a woman achieves the joy of motherhood. Through toil, the farmer earns the coveted grain from the field. Through long days and nights of steady study, a student passes the examination and obtains a degree. It is pitch-darkness that prompts the seeker of light; it is death that lends zest to life. Deprive yourself of luxury and comfort, detach yourself from what you hold dear and near through sheer ignorance of your mind. Pine, struggle, strive ceaselessly and then you are blessed with the inexpressible Bliss of the merger of the Individual with the Universal; you win the gift of Union with the Divine (Sakshathkara). El período comprendido entre los dieciséis y los treinta y dos años es una edad de oro. Es deber de todos los jóvenes reconocer cada mala idea o pensamiento que brota en su mente y exterminarlos por completo. La mente es como un mono loco y no deben someterse a ella. Tan pronto como un pensamiento viene a su mente, deben examinar si es un buen o mal pensamiento. Deben controlar la mente y mantenerla bajo su dirección. No deben estar preparados para sucumbir a todos los deseos que brotan en su mente. La juventud es la etapa en la que tienen toda la fuerza para superar los obstáculos que se presentan en su camino, y controlar sus acciones y pensamientos. En esta etapa, si se sienten enojados, celosos, o excitados, usen su plena capacidad para controlar estas tendencias. Si optan por no controlar sus emociones ahora, ¿tendrán la fuerza para hacerlo más tarde? (Rosas de verano en

The period between sixteen and thirty-two is a golden age. It is every youth’s duty to recognize every bad idea or thought that sprouts in their mind and exterminate it completely. Mind is like a mad monkey and you should not surrender to it. As soon as a thought comes into your mind, you should examine whether it is a good thought or a bad one. You should control the mind and keep it under your direction. You should not be prepared to yield to all the desires that sprout in your mind. Youth is the stage when you have all the strength to overcome the obstacles that come in your way, and control your actions and thoughts. At this stage, if you feel angry, jealous, or excited, use your full strength to control these tendencies. If you choose not to control your emotions now, will you get the strength to do it later? ¿Están ustedes conscientes del grandioso objetivo de su peregrinación en la tierra? No se pierdan en las vías secundarias y caminos equivocados, que sólo los conducirán al desastre. Ponen mucha fe en cosas que están fuera de ustedes mismos y piensan obtener alegría desde y a través de ellas. ¿No saben que todas las alegrías emanan sólo de la primavera que hay dentro de ustedes? Ustedes meramente envuelven las cosas exteriores con su propia alegría ¡y luego la experimentan como si surgiera a partir de esa «otra cosa»! El reconocimiento de su Divinidad innata y la regulación de su vida diaria de acuerdo con esa Verdad es la estrella que guía a cada ser, que está atrapado en las corrientes y contracorrientes del conflicto y la lucha. Sin esa guía de luz divina (Atmajnana), la vida se convertirá en una farsa sin sentido, en
una burla, en un juego de tontos. Es la adquisición de esa Conciencia de Uno Mismo lo que hará que su vida sea verdadera y fructífera. (Discurso Divino, 16 de marzo de 1966)

 

Are you aware of the grand goal of your pilgrimage on earth? Do not stray into the bylanes and wrong roads, they will only lead you to disaster. You put a lot of faith in things outside yourself and plan to derive joy from and through them. Do you not know that all joys emanate only from the spring within you? You merely envelop the outer things with your own joy, and then, you experience it as though it is from that ‘other thing!’ The recognition of your innate Divinity and the regulation of your daily living in accordance with that Truth is the guiding star for every being, which is caught in the currents and crosscurrents of strife and struggle. Without that guiding divine light (Atmajnana), life will become a meaningless farce, a mockery, a game of fools. It is the acquisition of that Self-Awareness, which will make your life earnest and fruitful. (Divine Discourse, Mar 16, 1966)
