La reconstrucción de la humanidad sobre bases morales es todavía hoy un problema universal. En todos los países el énfasis está en el estándar de vida, no en el modo de vida. Una vez que se orienten hacia la senda de la felicidad mundana, serán arrastrados hacia un descontento, competición, orgullo y celos aún más grandes. Solo deténganse por un momento y examinen la propia experiencia . Sea que son más felices cuando obtienen más riqueza o sea que estén más apacibles cuando sus deseos son satisfechos. Luego verán la cruda verdad de que un estándar de vida mejorado no es garantía de felicidad. Recuerden, la educación o el dominio de información y la adquisición de destrezas no es garantía de ecuanimidad mental. De hecho, verán que los educados en todas partes están más
descontentos y son más competitivos que los no educados. De este modo el re establecimiento de la rectitud (dharma) , lo cual es la terea del Avatar, es tan urgente en otras partes del mundo como lo es en India. Bhagavan Sri Sathya Sai Baba. Divino Discurso del 23 de abril de 1961

 

The reconstruction of humanity on moral foundations is today a universal problem. In all countries the emphasis is on standard of life, not on the way of living. Once you turn toward the path of worldly happiness, you will be led on to even greater discontent, competition, pride and jealousy. Just stop for a moment and examine your own experience; whether you are happier when you grow richer and whether you get more peace as and when your wants are satisfied. Then you will bear witness to the truth that an improved standard of living is no guarantee of happiness. Remember, education or the mastery of information and the acquisition of skills is no guarantee of mental equanimity. As a matter of fact, you find the educated everywhere more discontented and more competitive than the uneducated. So the reestablishment of righteousness (dharma), which is the task of the Avatar, is as urgent in other parts of the world as it is in India. (Divine Discourse,
