No busquen más y más felicidad (sukham); en su lugar, busquen la sabiduría (jnanam). La mente es un campo fértil para la ignorancia. Eliminen todos los rastros de la mente (Mano Nasanam). ¿Cómo destruir la mente? Es fácil. La mente está repleta de deseos. Es un balón lleno de aire como una pelota de fútbol. Pínchenla y no se moverá. Nirvana significa: “sin aire”. En un tanque cuadrado lleno de agua, el agua parece cuadrada; si la superficie es circular o rectangular, la lámina de agua que la cubre se parecerá a la misma forma geométrica. La mente toma la forma del deseo que la llena. Otro ejemplo: la mente es como un trozo de tela, siendo el hilo del deseo, la urdimbre y la trama de la tela. La textura, el color, la resistencia y el brillo de la tela, dependerá del deseo que constituya la urdimbre y la trama. Remuevan uno a uno
los hilos y la tela desaparecerá. Esta es la técnica para destruir la mente. Discurso divino del 16 de octubre de 1964.

 

Don’t seek more and more happiness (sukham); seek wisdom (jnanam) instead. Mind is a fertile field for ignorance. Wipe out all traces of the mind (Mano Nasanam). How to destroy the mind? It’s easy. The mind is stuffed with desire. It is a ball filled with air like a football. Puncture it and it will not move. Nirvana means, without air. In a square tank filled with water, water appears square; if the field is circular or rectangular, the sheet of water that fills it will resemble the same geometrical shape. The mind takes on the form of the desire that fills it. Another example – it is like a piece of cloth, the warp and the woof being the yarn of desire. The texture, colour, durability, and the shine of the cloth will depend upon the desire that constitutes the warp and woof. Remove the yarn one by one and the cloth disappears.
