La devoción no tiene que ser confinada a las cuatro paredes del santuario, ni a los pocos minutos en que meditan. Es una disciplina espiritual de tiempo completo. Su devoción debe ser expresada como adoración a cada persona, considerándolas encarnaciones vivientes de la Divinidad. Vean a Dios en cada uno, incluso en personas a quienes consideran enemigas. Practiquen este tipo de amor amplio e inclusivo. ¿Cómo pueden derivar felicidad de mostrar amor y reverencia a un ídolo de piedra que no responde ni refleja los sentimientos? Encuentren las dificultades y problemas que afligen a otros, y ayúdenlos, en la medida de lo posible, a revertirlos. Aprendan a vivir con los demás y a compartir con ellos sus propias alegrías y penas. Sean tolerantes, no tiránicos. Los seres vivientes devuelven el aprecio y la gratitud, y les desean el bien. Ustedes pueden ver cómo crece la
alegría en sus rostros. Esto les dará satisfacción. Si no pueden amar al prójimo, ¿cómo podrían tener devoción a Dios? (Divino Discurso, 16 de marzo de 1973)

 

Devotion should not be confined to the four walls of the shrine-room, or the few minutes you perform meditation. It is a full-time spiritual discipline. Your devotion must be expressed as worship of every one, considering them as living embodiments of Divinity. See God in every one, even in persons whom you regard as your enemies. Practise that broad, inclusive type of Love. How can you derive happiness by showing love and reverence to a stone idol, that does not respond or reflect the feelings? Find out the difficulties and troubles burdening others and help them to the extent you can to tide over them. Learn to live with others, and share your joys and sorrows with them; be forbearing, not overbearing. Living beings will return appreciation and gratitude and wish you well. You can see joy growing in their faces. That will confer satisfaction on you. If you cannot love your fellow man, how can you be devoted to God? (Divine Discourse, Mar 16,
