La cultura bharatiya condena la violencia como bestial, y aun peor. Si bien las epopeyas y antiguas leyendas de la India hablan de demonios, hombres y dioses como diferentes, son solo nombres para los atributos que todos compartimos, en mayor o menor medida. La humanidad debe luchar por librarse de la escoria del demonismo, e investirse del esplendor de la divinidad. Por lo tanto, permanezcan siempre atentos a que sus actividades no los arrastren a las profundidades demoníacas; que los eleven, en cambio, a las alturas de la divinidad. Es realmente digno de encomio que tantos se dediquen a los Bhajans, Nagar Sankirtan y Namasmarana. Que el nombre del Señor provenga del corazón, no de los labios. Sean Prahladas en la tierra que está harta de tantos Hiranyakasipus. El nombre del Señor es el Narasimha que los salvará y los sostendrá. Purifíquense, y purifiquen la atmósfera en la cual y por la
cual tienen que vivir. Este es mi consejo y esta mi bendición. (Divino Discurso, 12 de mayo de 1970)

 

Bharatiya culture condemns violence as bestial and even worse. Though epics and ancient tales of India speak of demons, men and gods as diverse, they are names only for traits, which all share, more or less. Humanity must endeavor to get rid of the dross of demonism and invest itself with splendour of Divinity. Be therefore ever vigilant that your activities do not drag you down into the depths of demonhood; let them elevate you into the heights of Divinity. It is really commendable that so many of you are engaged in Bhajans, Nagar Sankirtan and Namasmarana. Let the Name of the Lord proceed from the heart, not from the lips. Be Prahladas in the land that is sick with too many Hiranyakashipus. The name of the Lord is the Narasimha that will save and sustain! Purify yourselves and purify the atmosphere in which and by which you have to live. That is My advice and My blessing. (Divine Discourse, May 12, 1970)
