Gandhiji soñaba con Rama-rajya; quería que la gente viviera como los súbditos de Rama en Adyodhya. El Dharma debe brotar del corazón como la fresca y energizante agua de prema y shanti (amor y paz). En el Ramayana se puede aprender exactamente lo que es el Dharma. Rama es la encarnación misma del Dharma; cada palabra y cada acción resuenan con este mensaje. Lakshmana, el hermano de Rama que siguió sus pasos a lo largo de su carrera terrenal, es el símbolo de una mente que pisa sobre las huellas del Dharma; él nunca extravió el camino, y triunfó con una vuelta de la victoria. Gandhiji dreamt of Rama-rajya; he wanted that people must live like the subjects of Rama in Ayodhya. Dharma must be surging from the heart as the cool energising water of prema and shanti (love and peace). You can learn what exactly Dharma is from the Ramayana. Rama is the very embodiment of Dharma; every word and every deed is resonant with this message. Lakshmana, the brother of Rama, who followed His footsteps throughout his earthly career, is the symbol of the Mind walking on the footprints of Dharma; he never lost his way and triumphed in the lap of victory. The Ramayana is a text-book for Dharma to be lived out in every home, by the father, the mother, the son, the brother, the members of a joint family – both men and women. The brotherhood one has to cultivate is the readiness to give love for love, heart for heart, and life for life! (Divine Discourse, May 12, 1970)
