Algunos Gurús inician al alumno en un mantra (fórmula mística) y aconsejan la repetición del mismo. Pero no hacen hincapié en la Realidad Divina innata del alumno, la que no pueden ignorar ni siquiera por un momento, ni insisten en la regeneración moral, que es tan necesaria para aclarar sus facultades internas. El Gurú que otorga el mantra es el Deeksha Gurú (preceptor iniciador); El gurú de la remodelación de la personalidad es el Siksha Gurú (preceptor guía). Es este último gurú el que es reverencialmente elogiado de miles de maneras en los textos sagrados; él es el que elimina la visión errónea y destruye las tinieblas de la ignorancia. Él revela el Atma al individuo y lo hace libre. Gurú Purnima está dedicado a tales gurús. La Luna (la deidad que preside la mente) ¡está llena, clara,
fresca y brillante en este día! No tiene ninguna mancha u opacidad que disminuyan su resplandor. El gurú también es retratado y elogiado hoy como sin mancha, brillante y afectuoso. En este Gurú Purnima, deben decidir dominar sus sentidos e intelecto, emociones y pasiones, y pensamientos y sentimientos, a través del Sadhana intenso. (Discurso Divino, 27 de julio de 1980).

 

Some Gurus initiate the pupil into a mantra (mystic formula) and advise repetition of the same. But they do not emphasise the innate Divine Reality of the pupil which they cannot ignore even for a moment, nor do they insist on moral regeneration, which is so necessary for clarifying his inner faculties. The mantra-granting Guru is the Deeksha Guru (initiating preceptor); the personality recasting guru is the Siksha Guru (guiding preceptor). It is this latter guru that is reverentially praised in thousands of ways in the holy texts; he removes the faults in vision and destroys the darkness of ignorance. He reveals the Atma to the individual and makes him free. The Guru Purnima is dedicated to such gurus. The Moon (the presiding deity of the mind) is full, clear, cool and bright on this day! It has no blemish or dullness which diminishes its glow. The guru too is pictured and praised today as unblemished, bright and affectionate. On this Guru Poornima,
you must decide to master your senses and intellect, emotions and passions, and thoughts and feelings, through intense Sadhana. (Divine Discourse, Jul 27, 1980)
