La verdadera devoción no consiste simplemente en cantar el nombre de Rama (el Señor) sino en prestar ayuda a la sociedad y servir a los necesitados. Sólo entonces pueden ser dignos de la gracia de Dios. Hanuman ejemplificó el ideal de la obediencia implícita con los mandamientos de Dios. Los verdaderos devotos no deben dar lugar a dudas. Deben actuar con plena fe en Dios. Deben darse cuenta de que todo pertenece a Dios y deben renunciar a todo sentido de «yo» y lo «mío». Hay una diferencia básica entre la actitud de las Gopikas (las simples pastoras) hacia Krishna y la de los Yadavas de Dwaraka (parientes de Krishna). Las Gopikas sentían: «¡Krishna! Somos tuyas». Mientras los Yadavas sentían: «¡Krishna! Tú eres nuestro». Su actitud se basaba en Ahamkara (sentido del ego). Este fue el responsable de su destrucción definitiva. – Discurso Divino, 23 de enero de 1997.

 

True devotion consists not in merely chanting the name of Rama (the Lord) but in rendering help to the society and serving the needy. Only then can you become worthy of God’s grace. Hanuman exemplified the ideal of implicit obedience to God’s injunctions. True devotees should give no room for doubt. They must act with full faith in God. They must realise that everything belongs to God and should give up all senses of ‘I’ and ‘mine’. There is a basic difference between the attitude of the Gopikas (the simple cowherd womenfolk) towards Krishna and that of Yadavas of Dwaraka (relatives of Krishna). The Gopikas felt: «Krishna! We are Yours». While the Yadavas felt: «Krishna! You are ours.» Their attitude was based on Ahamkara (sense of ego). That was responsible for their ultimate destruction.
