Practiquen la actitud de alegría cuando los demás están alegres y de dolor cuando otros a su alrededor se sienten afligidos. Dejen que su corazón se mueva en empatía. Pero la alegría y el dolor tienen que traducirse en servicio; no deben ser meras emociones. No es usando la misma «chaqueta safari» que usan todos los demás que deben demostrar el principio de igualdad; eso es muy fácil. Esa es la uniformidad externa. ¿De qué forma son todos iguales? Todos son iguales porque todos tienen la misma Conciencia Divina (Chaitanya) dentro suyo. Cuando el Sol se levanta, no todos los lotos en el lago florecen; sólo los capullos crecidos abren sus pétalos. Los otros esperan su tiempo. Lo mismo ocurre con las personas. Las diferencias existen debido a la falta de madurez, aunque todas las frutas tienen que madurar y caer algún día. ¡Cada ser tiene que alcanzar
la Meta, sin importar cuán lentamente caminen o sin importar lo tortuoso que sea su camino! (Discurso Divino, 23 de abril de 1961)
Practice the attitude of joy when others are joyful and of grief when others around you are aggrieved. Let your heart move in empathy. But the joy and grief have to be translated into service; they should not be mere emotions. It is not by your wearing the same ‘bush coat’ that all others wear that you should demonstrate the principle of equality; that is very easy. That is external uniformity. How are all equal? All are equal, because they all have the same Divine Consciousness (Chaitanya) within them. When the Sun rises, not all lotuses in the lake bloom; only the grown buds open their petals. The others await their time. It is the same with people. Differences do exist because of un-ripeness, though all fruits have to ripen and fall someday. Every being has to reach the Goal, however slow they walk or however circuitous their road is! (Divine Discourse, Apr 23, 1961).
