En el Ramayana, los cuatro hermanos eran la encarnación de los cuatro Vedas. El Rig Veda es la encarnación del habla (vaak); el Yajur Veda es la encarnación de la mente (manas); el Sama Veda se refiere al principio vital (prana), y el Atharvana Veda al intelecto (buddhi). De modo que los cuatro Vedas paseaban con Dasaratha bajo las formas de Rama, Lakshmana, Bharatha y Shatrughna. Ustedes no ganarán mucho si se dejan dominar por el error conceptual de que Rama, como Encarnación de la Divinidad, está fuera de su alcance. Deben darse cuenta de que el Señor desciende a la Tierra para demostrar un ideal a la humanidad. Por lo tanto, todo ser humano debe moldearse a sí mismo de acuerdo al gran ejemplo establecido por Rama. Rama vive en todo corazón humano como el principio encantador, como el Uno Mismo Divino en su interior. No hay nadie en este mundo en quien el Uno Mismo esté ausente.

The four brothers in Ramayana were the embodiments of the four Vedas. Rig Veda is the embodiment of speech (vaak); Yajur Veda is the embodiment of the mind (manas); Sama Veda is of the life principle (prana); and Atharvana Veda is of the intellect (buddhi). Thus the four Vedas strolled with Dasaratha as Rama, Lakshmana, Bharatha, and Shatrughna. We will not gain much if we let ourselves be dominated by the mistaken notion that Rama is the Embodiment of Divinity and that He is beyond our reach. We should realise the fact that the Lord descended on earth to demonstrate an ideal to mankind. Hence every human being should mould themselves according to the great example set by Rama. Rama lives in every human heart as the enchanting principle, as the Divine Self within. There is none in this world in whom the Self is absent. Hence the Rama principle exists in everyone.
